The Final Installment

Welcome to...

the garage! We have moved up in the world and have a two car garage!! It is super-duper nice on cold, snowy days!
The entire garage is finished with drywall, and there is a dog door for Gunther to go in and out as he chooses. So no more staying inside all day for him! Another bonus with the garage is all of the finished attic space up there! It's not drywalled, nor does it go the full length of the house, but it has a plywood floor and will be great for storage. (Although, we aren't supposed to be storing things...if it's not being used, it goes away.)

Our nice, big, backyard. It's long enough that I can play ball with Gunther and he has to run more than 5 feet to get the ball. And yes, there is a swing set/jungle gym in the yard. I've talked about getting rid of it, but it's cemented in the ground. So that will be a summer-time project.

My poor, neglected houseplants getting some warm sunshine today.

The end of the house opposite the garage and dog door has a kennel area. We don't know why it's not on the garage end of the house. So this may get transplanted sometime. (Or maybe I'll just get chickens for this pen...)

This is the end of the house that would make sense to have a fenced dog kennel.

I've decided today that the trim on the windows is probably going to get a different color.

The front of our home. Jason said today that he doesn't like the red brick and maybe we can re-do that someday. I said I wasn't sure how feasible that really is. Maybe if we just change the trim color, it would look better? What do you think?

And that, my friends, concludes the final tour of our new house!
Sally, you can come visit anytime! We have plenty of rooms for everyone, even if the number of beds doesn't match! And Gunther likes to make new friends, always!

  1. A finished garage, an attic, and a playground! This is just tops! I say keep the playground---just add kids! Our house had a swingset with it, and we didn't move it, and after the years rolled by, there were kids to play on it. And those things are expensive if you want to buy one.

As far as the siding, I have always preferred the look of either all brick, or all siding, but not a mixture of the two. It looks like it might be easier to make the rest of the front brick than to take away or cover over the brick that's already there. However, perhaps a different trim color would give it a face lift without either of those and be cheaper. Over all, it looks like a really nice house. I hope you can enjoy it for a long time.
