Impending Motherhood Celebration

Since it is Mother's Day, I thought I would revert back to my old style of blogging and share lots of photos of an event that celebrated my impending motherhood: a baby shower. This was the baby shower that was given prior to Little Pumpkin being born. And, strangely enough, both my mother and mother-in-law were able to travel to Wyoming and attend!

The shower hosts were my good friend, Brittany....

Our Steamboat Weekend

A few weekends ago, Jason and I had the privilege of going to Steamboat with several friends for 3 days. We were very privileged to have Glen come out here to go with us. It was both Glen and Jason's first time at Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Jason and our friend Shannon were the only skiers. Glen joined the rest of us in snowboarding. And, it was literally his first time legitimately snowboarding.

It was a lot of fun, even though

Appetizer's, Margarita's, and Tomatoes!

This past weekend, Jason and I hosted a party. It was our second time having company this year. (We lead very dull, friendless, lives.) The first party we had was in May, I think, and it was a Wine and Cheese party. It was a huge hit and everyone had fun. For this party, Jason requested an Appetizer and Margarita party. We had figured out Wednesday morning that Saturday evening would work best and I started sending out the invites. I think the guest list was originally about 15, but by Friday night, it had grown to 20+. One of our friends, Justin, kept asking me "How do you feel about that many people in your house at one time?" (If you've seen our house, you would understand. At the last party, the majority of the guests had to sit on the floor!) I just kept saying the more the merrier, as long as everyone brings an appetizer to share! I also knew that some people were probably not going to make it anyway, so I didn't worry to much.

August: A Little Bit of Everything!

Actually, this post starts at the end of July before Jason came home. My friend, Shannon, and I attended a night of Frontier Days since she had never been before. We tried to dress somewhat appropriately for the event we were attending, Championship Bull Riding, and set out to try some specific carnival foods.

Shannon was going for the Australian look with Jason's kangaroo hide hat.

An Extreme Summer

This summer, I have found myself doing things that I normally don't think I would do. I'm not sure if it's because Jason is gone and I'm just doing pretty much anything to keep me busy, or if my circle of friends are just wild and crazy. The first adventure was an afternoon of climbing with 3 other girls.

Good Friends, Good Snow, Good Times

The other weekend, 5 friends and I went down to Steamboat, Colorado, to spend 2 days snowboarding. This trip was headed up by Brittany, whose birthday was that Friday. So it was kind of a "Happy Birthday Brittany" party! The weather predictions for the weekend was snow and a high of 12 degrees. Perfect weather, right?
We left Friday afternoon and for once the weather man was correct, as it started snowing on our way down. The first 4 of us that got there put all of our stuff into the motel and then went to see Fish Creek Falls which was just up the road. There was an easy, snow-packed trail to get to the falls.
After a short walk, we got to the bridge from which you can view the falls.
