The cute little stove and broiler was quite the novelty for us.
The first day we were there we did laundry. We didn't want to pay for the dryer though, so we went redneck.
Later, we went exploring to see the Blue Lake which is absolutely beautiful!
If I remember correctly, the Blue Lake is an extinct volcano and the water is super cold.
There was a cactus garden close by.
And Linden forgot to pack a hat, so he sported my wide-brimmed floppy hat for a few days to keep from getting sunburnt. I think this picture is so funny!
After marveling over the Blue Lake, we got in the car and cruised around the countryside. We stopped to see Valley Lake.
From there, we spotted this castle-looking thing and had to go check it out.
So we drove up the hill as far as we could go and then we hiked the rest of the way.
The little road was pretty close to being completely vertical, it seemed.
There was a really great view during the hike and once we got to the top.
And we made it to the castle on Mt. Gambier!!
To be continued...
These are really neat. I'm enjoying your trip all over again (we saw some pictures that Julia and Linden showed up at my parents, and of course pictures that you posted on FB).
